How we think about it

A few principles we don't bend.

Lookups are free. Forever.

Anyone who has to decide whether to pick up the phone deserves a clear answer, regardless of whether they can pay for one. A premium tier exists for developers and businesses running lookups at scale; the consumer-facing site stays free.

Community reports drive the spam signal.

Nobody knows a scam number better than the people who have been on the wrong end of it. Reports are moderated for abuse but otherwise take the community at its word.

Bad actors get deindexed.

If a number should not have a public page — a private individual, a DMCA takedown, a legal removal request — we honor it. The form is in the footer, we respond quickly, and we do not require a lawyer to reach us.

We do not sell your lookups.

Lookups are not logged against your identity. We do not profile you, we do not retarget you, and we do not share search history with third parties. The API equivalent is the same — metered for fairness, not monetized for data.
